Issue created Feb 17, 2021 by Jerome Colin@jerome-colinDeveloper

dimension #1 (level) is not a Time dimension

name: General Issue (FA)
about: Use this template for reporting an anomaly.

Please make sure that this is a bug. As per our GitHub Policy, we only address code/doc bugs, performance issues and build/installation issues on GitHub.

System information

  • OS Platform and Distribution (e.g., Linux Ubuntu 16.04): Debian 10
  • Maja installed from (source or binary): source
  • Maja version (use command below): release_4.3.0
  • Maja commit sha (if Maja is installed from source): 90df6515
  • Python version (From binpkg or custom): from SuperBuild_Archive
  • Complementary info (i.e. GCC/Compiler version) gcc (Debian 7.4.0-6) 7.4.0

Describe the current behavior

Activating the --cams option raises a series of warning message (56 or so) in the standard output for each product in nominal mode:

Warning 1: dimension #1 (level) is not a Time dimension.

Describe the expected behavior

That's not strictly speaking a bug, and possibly pre-exist to 4.3.0, but the interpretation of this warning remains unclear to me. I guess it's the expected behavior to have such warnings since GDAL_NETCDF_VERIFY_DIMS is set to yes, but has this anything to do with the CAMS data reformatting (expected datetime and got pressure/model level ?), and has this any impact on the actual use of CAMS ?

Urgency/Criticity

  • Urgency (Select Low/Medium/High): Low
  • Criticity (Select Low/Medium/High): Low

Code to reproduce the issue

Use --cams on a series of recent products (++08/2019)

Correction

(Optional) Provide a version number (Major.Minor.Patch, e.g. 3.2.1) when the correction shall be introduced.
