Several minor changes in rasterization application
Mantis Issue 232, reported by jmichel, assigned to abricier, created: 2011-02-11
Several minor changes in the rasterization application interface for the sake of homogeneity :
- Its name should be Rasterization (without "Application" at the end, like other apps)
- Pairs of parameters like size, spacing or origin should be handled with a single 2 parameters options : -size 10 10 in place of -sx 10 -sy 10
- The pipeline memory print estimator should be used and the -nbsd option should be replaced by the -ram option like in other apps (for instance optical calibration)
1297435589 - aurelienI think the -nbsd option is to be kept because it is used to test that the streamed and non-streamed processes are equivalent. Since they are not equivalent (due to the anti-aliasing) we should keep the associated tests and so the option. Notice that according to recent mapnik developments, the RasterizationApplication anti-aliasing issues seems to be solved in the current trunk.
1297437052 - julienI agree that this streamed vs. non streamed tests are important, but to my opinion they should occur in OTB only, not in OTB-Applications.
It is confusing for a user to see an option he should not use, and the -ram option is in turn very useful to really use streaming when needed.
1298050875 - aurelienThe application has been renamed to Rasterization.
Unfortunately, the application wrapper does not support the use of multiple parameters like -sz 10 10. This feature must be posted in a specific feature request.
