Remove old compatibility for gcc compilation

Thibaut ROMAIN requested to merge try-package-without-old-compat into release-8.1

The pacakging is still done with GCC < 5 compatibility mode in mind, which is not used anymore and can cause problem on recent gcc/glibc. This MR intends to remove this compatibility
